How do I know if I need a hearing check?
Did you know it’s recommended to have a hearing test at least once a decade? And, after 60, it’s a good idea to have a hearing check annually at our clinic.
- A hearing test is quick, painless and takes about 20 minutes.
- First, you’ll have a Pure tone audiometry test. This involves simply listening to a range of tones and volumes.
- Next is Speech Audiometry. This tests what you can hear and understand.
- Finally, you’ll be tested to see what you can hear in a noisy environment.
- Moreover, your first hearing check is free.
What are the signs I might be having a hearing problem?
Commonly, the first signs of hearing loss include:
- Needing people to repeat themselves.
- Struggling to hear in noisy places like restaurants.
- Listening to the TV or radio at a higher volume.
- Similarly, talking more loudly is a sign.
- Having to listen harder to conversations. This can result in feeling more tired.
